Pump and glucose,at a glance.

PumpDash puts Tandem Mobi pump data and CGM readings together in one calm, readable view: on a little screen by your desk, on your computer, and on your phone.

Built by a type 1 diabetes parent who wanted the answers without picking up her daughter's phone.

  • Tandem Mobi
  • One sign-in
  • Read-only
  • No PumpDash server
PumpDash on iPhone: glucose 149 mg/dL, in range and steady, with insulin on board, last bolus, pump battery, pump data age and a 3-hour chart with meals and basal

On your desk

One look. No grabbing their phone.

The desktop app is laid out for a 1280×400 bar display that lives below your main screens. It works in any window on Windows and Mac, too.

PumpDash desktop running on a 1280×400 bar display in the OLED theme: glucose 153 mg/dL and steady, a 24-hour chart with event markers and basal delivery, Control-IQ Exercise mode on, and pump status including the last bolus, insulin remaining, battery, sensor and site age
  1. 1

    Reading, trend and age

The biggest thing on the screen, with the change since the last reading and how many minutes old it is.

  2. 2

Doses and basal on the chart

3 to 24 hours of glucose with boluses, corrections, suspends and site changes, and basal underneath.

  3. 3

    Pump status along the edges

IOB, average, carbs and time in range across the top, with Control-IQ Exercise or Sleep mode when it's on; bolus, insulin, battery, site and sensor below.

Glance mode

Readable from across the room.

One click strips the board down to the reading, the trend arrow, insulin on board, pump battery and insulin remaining, plus how old the pump data is. Out-of-range readings are named in words, so color is never the only signal.

Glance mode: a large 134 with a steady arrow, IOB 2.23 U, pump battery 63%, 85 U remaining, pump data 4 minutes ago

Why PumpDash exists

Built for my own kid first.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She wears a Tandem Mobi pump and a CGM, and the technology is amazing. But everything I check as her parent was split across apps on her phone.

I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I built it. PumpDash started in May 2025 as a few Python scripts and grew into a desktop app and a phone app.

Now it all sits on a 7-inch screen below my monitors, and one look tells me everything.

What I asked all day

  • What's her blood sugar?
  • Which way is it moving?
  • How much insulin is on board?
  • How much is left in the pump?
  • Does it need charging?
  • When did we change her site?
  • How long ago was the CGM placed?

One glance

Every answer on one screen, each with its age beside it.

Every answer in one place. No app-hopping. No guessing how old the number is.

Features

Everything you check all day, in one view.

Every number says how old it is, and every estimate says it's an estimate.

Live glucose and trend

The current reading, its trend arrow and the change since the last reading, with 3, 6, 12 and 24-hour graphs.

Every dose on the chart

Meal boluses, corrections, suspends and site changes on their own row under the graph, with basal beneath. Tap one for the carbs, units and time.

Insulin on board

IOB, the last bolus, extended bolus status and today's carbs, without opening a single app.

Pump essentials

Insulin remaining, battery, last full charge, site age and sensor countdown along the bottom of the screen.

Time in range

Your 24-hour average glucose and time in range, using the high and low lines from the pump's own settings.

Data age, always visible

Every number knows how old it is. Stale values dim and say so, and anything unknown shows as a dash, never as zero.

Estimates that say so

Between pump uploads, insulin on board and insulin remaining are projected forward, marked EST., and replaced with the pump's own numbers the moment fresh data lands.

Glance mode

One click turns the dashboard into an across-the-room view: the reading, the arrow, IOB, battery and insulin left.

Demo Mode

Explore everything with a simulated day of data. No accounts, no network, and nothing real on screen.

On your phone

The same view, wherever you are.

Native apps for iPhone and Android on one shared core, so both show the same numbers and the same warnings.

The answer before you ask

The reading and trend up top, pump essentials in the overview pills, and a chart with meals, corrections, suspends and basal underneath.

  • Tandem sign-in happens on Tandem's own page. PumpDash never sees that password.
  • mg/dL or mmol/L, whichever you use.
  • VoiceOver and Reduce Motion supported on iPhone.
  • Refreshes every time you open it, with no server holding your logins.

Events

Event info at a glance.Detailed info at a touch.

Meal boluses, corrections and suspends sit on their own row under the chart, so you can see what happened and when without leaving the home screen. Tap a marker for the carbs, the units and the exact time, then jump straight to every event.

  • Meal bolus

    Carbs, units and time

  • Correction

    Units delivered and time

  • Suspend

    When delivery stopped

Privacy and safety

Your family's data stays with your family.

A child's health data and the logins to two medical accounts deserve more care than a typical app gives them.

Private by design

  • No PumpDash server

Data goes straight from Tandem Source to your device, and nowhere else.

  • No analytics, no tracking

No ads and no crash-reporting SDKs. The iPhone app declares no data collected.

  • Logins in secure storage

Windows Credential Manager, the macOS and iPhone Keychain, or the Android Keystore. Never a plain file.

  • A locked-down desktop service

The desktop app's background service needs a fresh random key every launch and refuses requests from web pages.

Safe to glance at

  • Read-only

PumpDash never sends anything to the pump and never changes a setting.

  • Stale never looks current

CGM readings are marked stale after 12 minutes; pump values dim after 90.

  • Estimates are labeled

Projected values between uploads carry an EST. badge until real data replaces them.

  • Unknown is never zero

A missing value shows as a dash, so “no data yet” can't pass for “none”.

When something breaks, it says so.

If the connection drops, the last reading turns amber and says “not connected”, pump values dim, and PumpDash keeps retrying on its own. Late uploads, expired sessions and network hiccups are handled without you watching it.

Not a medical device.

PumpDash is not a medical device. Information it displays may be delayed, incomplete, estimated or unavailable. Never use it to calculate insulin doses or make treatment decisions; rely on your pump, CGM, meter, the official manufacturer apps and your healthcare team.

Setup

Up and running in a few minutes.

  1. 1

    Connect Sugarmate to Tandem Source

Install Sugarmate by Tandem on the phone paired with the pump and connect Tandem Source. Your pump then updates about every 5 minutes instead of about once an hour.

  2. 2

    Install PumpDash

Download the Windows or Mac app, or join the iPhone beta.

  3. 3

    Connect Tandem Source

Sign in with your Tandem Source login. Glucose and pump data both come from there, so it's the only account you need.

Your sign-in is checked as you enter it and saved in your system's secure storage, so you stay signed in. Want to look around first? Turn on Demo Mode and explore a simulated day with nothing connected.

All questions and support
Which devices does PumpDash work with?

PumpDash is built and tested with a Tandem Mobi insulin pump, read through Tandem Source. Glucose comes from the CGM readings the pump uploads to Tandem Source, so there is no separate CGM account to connect.

How often does it update?

Glucose and pump data arrive together when the pump uploads to Tandem Source, bringing its CGM readings with it: about once an hour on its own, or about every 5 minutes, give or take a few, with Sugarmate by Tandem connected to Tandem Source. PumpDash learns your pump's rhythm and checks right when the next upload is due.

What does EST. mean?

Between uploads, PumpDash projects insulin on board and insulin remaining forward so the screen stays useful. Those values are labeled as estimates and snap back to the pump's own numbers as soon as fresh data arrives. Estimates can be wrong.

Can PumpDash change pump settings or deliver insulin?

No. PumpDash is read-only. There is no code path that sends anything to the pump.

Where does my data go?

Straight from Tandem Source to your own device, and nowhere else. There is no PumpDash server, no analytics and no crash reporting.

Everything you check all day, in one glance.

Windows and Mac today. iPhone in beta, Android on the way.
